The complete client (the launcher and the associated dlls/files) can be deployed directly on "agent" workstations by downloading the latest version of the archive from :
The client application consists of a "launcher" NixxisClientDesktop.exe which connects to the application server in order to download the files that make up the "software" as a whole.
The launcher can be downloaded directly from the application server :
http://[FQDN]:8088/Provisioning/ClientSoftware.zip Once downloaded and unzipped, all you have to do is run the launcher and specify the service URL to initiate the first connection.
It is also possible, through deployment mechanisms (SCCM among others), to deploy the launcher and write the URL service in the registry.
Prerequisites
- Microsoft Windows 10
- Microsoft .Net Framework 4.8 Client Profile including installed Microsoft .NET Framework 3.8
- Microsoft Windows Media Player 10 (for playbacks)
Default network flows
- Outbound to application server on TCP ports 8080 and 8088, and TCP 80 if eScript is installed
- Outbound to reporting server on TCP 80
User read/write/change rights
- Application Data folder (system default)
- HKCU/Software/Nixxis registry
Manual bootsrap deployment
- Create a "Nixxis" folder and assign it write rights for the user
- Copy « NixxisClientDesktop.exe » to folder "Nixxis"
- If .NET rights management is in use, give “FullTrust” right to NixxisClientDesktop.exe
- Create shortcut(s) as needed
