How to install Microsoft SQL Server 2012
Introduction
The purpose of this article is to provide how to install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 for Nixxis Contact Suite.
Installing Microsoft SQL Server 2012
Select “Setup.exe”:
Select “New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation”
During “Checking process”, no error could occur
Then, push “Ok” and wait until second screen
Then, push “Next” and accept “License terms”
Install the “product updates”
Everything should be green and valid except “Windows Firewall”, but at this state, we do not matter
Select “SQL Server Feature Installation”
For a standard installation, push on “Select All” and choose the installation directories:
Note: there is no issue to install the binaries and the systems databases on the C drive (just be sure you have enough disk space), but you have to change the default location of the user databases on another drive!
Click on “Next”
Select “Default instance” and click on “Next”
Check the Summary and click on “Next”
Select the account “Network Service” for the service like the screenshot below:
In the tab “Collation”, customize “Database Engine” and “Analysis Service” and change the collation in
“Latin1_General_CI_AI”

By checking the following options (Accent-sensitive needs to be unselected):
The push “Next” and select the “Mixed Mode”
Use a password for the built-in SQL Server system administrator account (the default SA account)
Push on “Add Current User”
You can add other accounts if needed.
You can check the data directories if you want to change the default location (do it if you choose to install the SQL on the C drive).
Then push “Next”
Same questions for the Analysis services do the same as for the Database engine:
You can also check the “Data Directories” and then push “Next”
For the Reporting Services, select “Install and configure”:
Click Next until “Installation Configuration Rules”
Push “Next” and have a look at the install Summary
Click on “Install” and wait until the end of the installation process. At the end, normally everything should be green with the mention “Success”
Push on “Next” and after push on “Close”
You have successfully installed Microsoft SQL Server 2012 for Nixxis Contact Suite
