Introduction

This article aims to list the prerequisites for agents, supervision & administration workstations.

Agent Workstation

  1. For NCS V3.x, Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime must be installed on agent workstations.
  2. The Evergreen package is recommended.
  3. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or later.
  4. The NixxisClientDesktop.exe application must be able to access cert.zoiper.com on TCP port 443 to perform license validation.
  5. For the Visualize Agent’s Screen feature in the Supervision Module (Enterprise Edition only), TCP ports 5900 and 5800 must be open.
  6. Install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable corresponding to the operating system architecture:

    2. x86: https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe
  7. To avoid performance degradation or service disruption, it is recommended to exclude the Nixxis installation folder from antivirus scans (both real-time and scheduled).
If agents are expected to run additional applications alongside Nixxis Client Desktop (such as Outlook, CRM applications, web browsers, Microsoft Teams, softphones, screen recording tools, or other productivity software), a minimum of 8 GB RAM is recommended

  1. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or later.   
  2. Some Nixxis features may rely on Windows Media components. On Windows 11, Windows Media Player may need to be installed manually as an optional Windows feature.
  3. The NixxisClientDesktop.exe application must be able to access cert.zoiper.com on TCP port 443 to perform license validation.

Enabling Windows Media Player on Windows 11

If Windows Media Player is required by your deployment, it can be installed as an optional Windows feature:

  1. Open Settings.  
  2. Navigate to Apps → Optional Features.
  3. Click View Features.
  4. Search for Windows Media Player Legacy. 
  5. Select the feature and click Next, then Install. 
  6. Restart the workstation if prompted.

Alternatively:     
  1. Open Control Panel.   
  2. Navigate to Programs and Features.
  3. Click Turn Windows features on or off.
  4. Expand Media Features.
  5. Enable Windows Media Player.
  6. Click OK and allow Windows to complete the installation.
  7. Restart the workstation if prompted.
